Search that costs nothing

Search should not add a hosted-service bill for the people who use the theme. Compose defaults to Pagefind, which indexes the built HTML at deploy time and loads only the fragments a query needs, so it scales without shipping a giant index to every visitor.

Prefer typo tolerance or a hosted backend? You have the source. Search lives in one file per app, behind a two-function contract the rest of the theme talks to. Match it with your own engine and the nav dropdown, the /search page and the styling all keep working.
